Leave it to the fine folks from the Land of the Rising Sun, to find an untapped market that one would have never thought existed.
Pet supplement company B&H Lifes is rolling out “wine exclusively for cats” that is called “Nyan Nyan Nouveau.” In Japanese, “nyan nyan” (ニャンニャン) can refer to a cat’s meow as well as people screwing. Here, it refers to cats. “Nouveau” appears to evoke Beaujolais Nouveau, which is quite popular in Japan.
I don’t believe it’s “technically” wine as kitty is not going to be able to get toasted off of it, as the drink contains no actual alcohol. The probable foul tasting concoction is made with Cabernet grapes and catnip. It’s marketed towards those poor lonely souls sitting home alone getting sloshed with their cats. The “wine” will sell for roughly 4 bucks U.S. Dollars.
I wonder if someone is going to make a version for Fido as well?
