Utah Man Sentenced Up To 5 Years For Stealing Burrito

November 20, 2014by JoecephusNo Comments
BILLY-GOREE

Billy Goree, 42, of Ogden, Utah, was sentenced 0-5 years for shoplifting two burritos from a gas station. A State parole board will decide his release date.

It looks like the State of Utah is doing a great job of locking up hardened, violent criminals. 42-year-old Billy Goree, of Ogden, Utah, was sentenced up to five years for the violent and heinous crime of swiping two gas station burritos.

I shudder at the thought of what Utah does to people who forget to feed the parking meter.

Via KSL:

Judge Scott Hadley said Tuesday he felt uncomfortable sending the 42-year-old man to prison for shoplifting a meal, but the man has a long history of theft arrests.

Billy Goree said he was hungry when he stole the burritos and was willing to change, but the judge said he’s violated his probation in the past.

Police say Goree was caught stealing the burritos on a security camera in September and police found and arrested him nearby. Read More…

I wonder how many sex-offenders and murderers will have to be released to make room for yet another violent burrito thief.

Utah Teacher Orders Students To Tell Her What’s In Their Parent’s Medicine Cabinets

October 25, 2014by JoecephusNo Comments

medicine-cabinetA Homework assignment given to students at Mapleton Junior High School in Utah has brought the school under fire, and rightfully so, after a parent posted it on Facebook complaining. Onika Harris, a concerned mother of a student, also sent a note to the school’s principal and the teacher that issued the questionable assignment.

Students were sent home with a worksheet that instructed them to go to their family medicine cabinet and write down a list of all of its contents, both over-the-counter and prescriptions. The assignment also instructed the students to describe what the medicine is used for, what the directions are for use, whether or not the user follows the directions, whether or not the medicine is still used, and whether or not the medicine is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Via KSL-TV:

MAPLETON, Utah County — What’s in your medicine cabinet? It’s a pretty personal question, but that was the assignment students in one health class at Mapleton Junior High School brought home.

Concerns were raised when a copy of the assignment started circulating on social media websites. Nebo School District officials said not only was the assignment a violation of privacy, but also state HIPPA laws.

“This was an innocent mistake,” said Lana Hiskey with Nebo School District. “It was part of a health unit. (The teacher) wanted parents to know how to clean their medicine cabinets.”

At the top of the assignment, it explained how a major reason for drug abuse in Utah County is people aren’t safely disposing of medications.

The instructions then ask students to go home, look in their medicine cabinets and report back medication names, what the medication is being used for and if it’s still being used.

“(Teachers) create their own lesson plans every day, so something like this can slip through without someone else knowing it,” Hiskey said.

Hiskey describes the first-year teacher who assigned the project as someone who teaches with enthusiasm and wanted to send home meaningful homwork. Read More…

There is no doubt in my mind that this “enthusiastic teacher” is a hard-core liberal idiot.

Utah Woman Tried To Burn Down Ex-Boyfriend’s House… With Bacon

August 30, 2014by JoecephusNo Comments
Cameo-Crispi-Mugshot

Cameo Adawn Crispi, 32, is accused of trying to set fire to her ex-boyfriend’s home on March 14, 2014, with a pound of bacon left burning on a stove.

A Utah woman is accused of doing one of the most despicable things a person can do… abusing bacon.

Oh yeah, the awesomely-named Cameo Adawn Crispi, 32, of Uintah County, UT, is also accused of using a pound of the heavenly meat to try and start a fire in her ex-boyfriend’s house.

According to police, Ms. Crispi repeatedly called & drunk-texted her former lover while inside his home last March, where she left the bacon smoking over a lit burner.

Crispi, is facing charges of arson, burglary, assault by a prisoner, interfering with an arresting officer, electronic communication harassment and intoxication.

Via Deseret News:

The first officer to reach the house said Crispi was obviously impaired and there was smoke coming out the front door.

“I asked to come in and observed a wood stove left open with a fire burning inside and hot coals on the floor around the stove,” the officer wrote, noting that he also found a pound of bacon sitting on a cookie sheet on top of the kitchen stove.

“I observed the burner to be on the setting ‘High’ and the bacon to be severely burned and smoking badly,” the officer wrote. Read More…

After police managed to get the fire extinguished, because she was so intoxicated, Crispi had to be taken to the hospital before she could be booked. She was found to have a 0.346 blood-alcohol content and when asked about the fire by the doctor treating her she replied, that it was to “…get back at (her ex-boyfriend).”
