Assault With A Deadly Burrito Part II

March 26, 2016by JoecephusNo Comments

Who would have thought that burritos were such a dangerous weapon?

This past Tuesday, Sheriff’s Deputies in Okaloosa County Florida responded to a home, where they found Suzanne Hulvert, 51, with a fork stuck in her hand. She received the stabbing, in retaliation for hitting her husband, Carl Smith, 66, in the head with her half eaten Burrito Supreme from Taco Bell.

Via The Smoking Gun:

Hurlvert, cops noted, had a fork protruding from her right hand, but was still “relatively calm and in good spirits.” Hurlvert told investigators that she and Smith had argued about his drinking, and that the dispute turned physical.

As the couple quarreled, Hurlvert allegedly hit Smith in the back of the head with the Taco Bell burrito. Cops noted that burrito remnants were “located on the floor, scattered on the sofa, and on a lamp shade.”

…

Smith, who was arrested at a nearby bar, and Hurlvert were each charged with felony battery counts. They are both free on $1000 bond, according to jail records. Read More…

Specifically, a cop noted, multiple videos showed Johns’s dogs “giving her oral sex while she masturbated.” One video showed Johns attempting to have a dog penetrate her, while a text message from Johns to Villavicencio noted that one of the animals “likes the taste of your cum.”

After seizing the phone, investigators confronted Johns, who claimed that Villavicencio (seen at left) was “interested in her having sex with animals.” Other statements Johns made to police have been redacted from the report. Read More…

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on Tuesday seized 361 counterfeit NFL-related merchandise at the Denver Broncos Super Bowl 50 Parade and Rally. (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement)

The American people can rest easy this week, because apparently our borders are secure, ISIS has been defeated and all grave threats to our nation’s security have been eliminated. Now the fine folks at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security can focus on the real grave threats to our freedom… counterfeit NFL merchandise.

Via The Denver Post:

Homeland Security agents seized more than 350 counterfeit NFL-related merchandise items at Tuesday’s Broncos parade and rally, officials said Friday.

No arrests have been made following the seizure from 15 vendors who were hawking counterfeit T-shirts, jerseys and beanies with Broncos and Super Bowl 50 trademarks, according to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement news release.

Democrats Fighting To End Smartphone Privacy

January 21, 2016by JoecephusNo Comments

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
(U.S. Const. amend. IV)

Until the past few years with the rise of NSA spying and TSA pat downs, the Fourth Amendment has not been talked about as much as the Second or First. That does not make it any less important, as a matter of fact eliminating Fourth Amendment Rights, pretty much eliminates First & Second Amendment rights along with them.

Recently, Democrats in both New York and California have introduced bills that would outright ban the sale of mobile devices with encryption technology. The similar bills introduced in California by State Rep. Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove) and in New York by Assemblyman Matthew Titone (D-Staten Island), if passed, would require all smartphones that are sold to be “capable of being decrypted and unlocked by its manufacturer or its operating system provider.”

Via endgadget:

Cooper’s reasoning puts a novel spin on the same, tired “The police can’t do their jobs unless tech companies do it for them” argument. This time, he used human trafficking as the boogeyman that needs defeating and which can only be accomplished if the government has unfettered, disk-level access to its citizens’ cell phones.

“If you’re a bad guy [we] can get a search record for your bank, for your house, you can get a search warrant for just about anything,” Cooper told ArsTechnica. “For the industry to say it’s privacy, it really doesn’t hold any water. We’re going after human traffickers and people who are doing bad and evil things. Human trafficking trumps privacy, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.” Apparently human trafficking also trumps the 4th Amendment as well. Read more…

Forcing everyone into using un-encrypted mobile devices and opening up not just the government sector thieves but private sector thieves as well to be able to access your private information is much worse. People use their smart phones today for banking, medical information and a whole host of other legal activities that require privacy.

While I agree that human trafficking is a disgusting and vile criminal activity that has to be stopped, it is not more important than the fundamental right to privacy. If a warrant can be obtained for all those other things it can be obtained to search a smart phone as well.

The Snapchat Robber

January 6, 2016by JoecephusNo Comments

suspectimageIf you plan on committing armed robbery, it is probably not a very good idea to snap a selfie with your victim. It’s just common sense.

That lesson was not one that was given to Victor Almanza-Martinez, who was arrested last week after police tracked him down thanks to a Snapchat selfie he took with one of his victims.

Two of his accomplishes are still on the loose.

Via KNTV:

It occurred at Lovers Point Park, according to the Pacific Grove Police Department. Victor Almanza-Martinez, 18, of Castroville, and two other men allegedly approached four victims and robbed them of their belongings, including keys to a 2013 black Chrysler 200.

The suspects fled in the Chrysler, which is still missing, but not before Almanza-Martinez and one of the female victims exchanged Snapchat information and posed for a selfie together, police said. Read More…

Ryan Patrick Bautista, 34, and Leanne Hunn, 30, face charges of resisting law enforcement without violence and false imprisonment.

Police arrived at the home after receiving a tipat about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening that Bautista, wanted for arrest for several crimes, including armed robbery, was hiding out at a mobile home in the 9700 block of Noroad.

Via First Coast News:

About 45 minutes later, a woman came out the door and moments later, another women came outside. Police say both were taken into custody.

According to the incident report, one of the women told police she went to the home to celebrate a birthday. The report says she told police they were watching TV when police arrived and Bautista grabbed her by the arm and dragged her to the back bedroom. Bautista and Hunn told her she would not be allowed to go outside because they were scared he would be arrested for a warrant, police said.

Police say the woman then started to scream but Bautista covered her mouth with his hand and held her down. Seconds later, he let her off the ground but would not let her leave until she began to cry, the report said.

The other woman told police she was also allowed to leave after the first woman walked outside. The second woman said they were celebrating her birthday at the trailer.

Bautista and Hunn continued to refuse to exit the trailer, police said. Police spoke with Hunn over the phone and she said “she would come out but wanted to have sex with Bautista one last time” and then hung up, according to the report. But police say she did not come out. Read More…

A well-balanced meal.

Get a little liquor in the system and even the biggest weirdo freak vegan will chow down on a juicy burger. According to a recent poll in the UK a large amount of so-called vegetarians admit to snacking on tasty animal flesh after having a few too many adult beverages.

Via The Independent UK:

Two in five of 1,789 vegetarians questioned owned up to treating themselves to a sneaky kebab after a few drinks.

And one in three said they indulged in meat every time they went out drinking.

Twenty-seven per cent of the lapsing veggies said they ate bacon, while 19 per cent opted for fried chicken and 14 per cent confessed to munching on sausages.

…

The survey was conducted by money-saving website Voucher Codes Pro.

George Charles, founder of the website, said: “I know a few ‘vegetarians’ who sometimes crave meat, but it seems that a few are giving into their cravings when drunk.

“I think it’s important for friends of these ‘vegetarians’ to support them when drunk and urge them not to eat meat as I’m sure they regret it the next day.” Read More…

Via MSN:

A California man who as a child actor voiced the cartoon character Charlie Brown was charged on Friday with threatening a judge, a witness and the San Diego County sheriff at a court hearing meant to sentence him for other charges.

Peter Robbins, 59, had faced up to three years and two months in state prison for violating his probation after he earlier admitting charges of stalking and making threats.

Instead, he was charged with two counts of criminal threats, against the judge and a witness; one of attempted criminal threat for allegedly offering $50,000 for the murder of Sheriff Bill Gore, and one count of felony vandalism of his jail cell.

Robbins cried through the hearing, according to Deputy District Attorney Brenda Daly.

“He has shown such a spectrum of emotions that I try not to pay attention,” Daly said.

Robbins’ attorney, Jo Ellen Super, did not return calls seeking comment on the new charges.

New York City Tried To Fire A Dead Man

August 9, 2015by JoecephusNo Comments

burnout-cubicleIf this story doesn’t describe perfectly the stupidity that is big-government, I don’t know what does.

Recently, New York City tried to fire 65-year-old Geoffrey Tolliver from his $38K-a-year job as a Medicaid eligibility specialist for missing about 18 months of work.

The cities Human Resources Administration accused the government employee of abandoning his job as of November 2013. Last month an administrative law judge recommended Toliver be fired, noting that he didn’t appear for a July 1 hearing.

Of course Tolliver couldn’t appear to the hearing, he had died of cancer last December.

Via The New York Post:

HRA officials said they sought to remove Toliver from his $38,000-a-year job after they couldn’t reach him for well over a year.

They marked the start of his absence as Nov. 12, 2013, and said calls and certified letters mailed to his home were never answered.

“We did everything we could to contact him and his family,” said HRA spokesman David Neustadt. “This employee was not paid when he wasn’t working, but we left his job open in case he recovered.”

He said that now that the agency knows of his “unfortunate death,” it would take no further action.

Family members were surprised to hear city officials claim they hadn’t been in touch with Toliver.

“It is my understanding that . . . his employer was fully aware that he was not able to come back to work,” Toliver’s brother Anthony told The Post.

“It is my understanding that my brother’s family spoke directly to his supervisor during his long hospitalization and informed them of his death.”

An online obit said Toliver was born in Harlem as the second of eight children.

“He was very well liked by his colleagues,” it said. Read More…

Cops Busted Eating Pot Brownies Claim Rights Were Violated

August 4, 2015by JoecephusNo Comments

Police officers raid the Sky High Collective pot dispensary in Santa Ana in May in this screenshot of a video taken by security cameras. Police officers raid the Sky High Collective pot dispensary in Santa Ana in May in this screenshot of a video taken by security cameras. A lawsuit, filed last week in Orange County Superior Court by three unidentified police officers and the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, seeks to prevent Santa Ana Police Department internal affairs investigators from using the video as they sort out what happened during the May 26 raid of Sky High Collective.

On May 26th the Santa Ana, California, Police Department conducted a raid of a medical marijuana dispensary. According to a lawsuit filed by Sky High Holistic, operators of the medical marijuana collective, the raid was captured by secret surveillance cameras set up in the shop. The lawsuit states that during the raid officers were “intentionally destructive and destroyed video surveillance equipment, safes, furniture, fixtures, doors and other property.” They claim damages in excess of $100,000.

In addition to showing officers allegedly making derogatory comments about a disabled women, the surveillance video also purports to show officers snacking on some pot-laced brownies.

Via The Orange County Register:

A lawsuit, filed last week in Orange County Superior Court by three unidentified police officers and the Santa Ana Police Officers Association, seeks to prevent Santa Ana Police Department internal affairs investigators from using the video as they sort out what happened during the May 26 raid of Sky High Collective.

Lawyers for police and the dispensary said the video – which has been widely seen on television and several online news sites, including ocregister.com – could play a key role in the ongoing investigation into the officers’ actions.

The lawyers disagree about the video’s accuracy and authenticity.

Matthew Pappas, a lawyer for Sky High, pointed to the irony of police seeking to shoot down the use of video as evidence in an investigation when they routinely use videos to investigate other crimes.

“It’s pretty pathetic for police to say if we don’t like something that it can’t be used as evidence,” Pappas said.

Corey W. Glave, a Hermosa Beach attorney representing the Santa Ana Police Officers Association and the three officers, said the video was taken without the officers’ knowledge and was handled by Pappas, among others, prior to being made public.

…

After entering the building, police are seen dismantling video cameras inside the store.

After most of the cameras are taken down, a camera they didn’t detect shows the officers talking about a woman with an amputated left leg who at the time of the raid was in her wheelchair inside the dispensary.

“Did you punch that one-legged old Benita,” a male officer asks a female officer, apparently referring to the woman in the wheelchair.

“I was about to kick her in her (expletive) nub,” the female officer replies, according to subtitles with the video.

In another clip – which Pappas has titled “Officers eating edibles and playing darts” – a voice can be heard asking, “What flavor?” before an officer is seen unwrapping a small package and putting something in his mouth.

The lawsuit argues that the video doesn’t paint a fair version of events. The suit also claims the video shouldn’t be used as evidence because, among other things, the police didn’t know they were on camera.

“All police personnel present had a reasonable expectation that their conversations were no longer being recorded and the undercover officers, feeling that they were safe to do so, removed their masks,” says the suit. Read More…

So basically what they are saying is that they shouldn’t be charged with anything because they thought they destroyed all the evidence.

Lol. And these are the people that are supposed to uphold the law.

Ohio Burglary Suspect Falls Through Attic Floor

BELLEVUE, Ohio — A burglary suspect fell through an attic floor after hiding from police Thursday afternoon.

At the time, Bellevue police were executing a search warrant at a home in the 100 block of Grove Street in connection with a Monday burglary on Crystal Court.

Suspect Dustin Bean, 25, was found hiding in the attic under insulation. While attempting to crawl out, police say Bean fell through the attic floor to the first floor of the house.

He then ran into the basement and attempted to hide from police again. Read More…

The thing is this isn’t the first time the idiot was found hiding in an attic. In February of 2013, police found him hiding in an attic, that time however he only almost fell through.

BELLEVUE — A Huron County Sheriff’s Deputy, his K-9 and a wanted man narrowly avoided injuries Saturday when the ceiling collapsed during the search of an attic in Bellevue.

Deputy Josh Kaufman and K-9 “Gunny” were dispatched to Grove Street in Bellevue to assist the Bellevue Police Department with a search for a possibly armed man. At the scene, the K-9 and his handler teamed up with Police Sgt. Mark Kaufman, Deputy Kaufman’s father.

After hearing reports that the suspect, later identified as Dustin Bean, 22, was hiding in an attic crawlspace and possibly armed, K-9 Gunny was sent to locate him and eventually found him hiding in the rafters.

To avoid being bitten, Bean started to come out of hiding. That is when the ceiling gave out and Bean, Deputy Kaufman and Gunny started to fall through, according to Sgt. Chuck Summers, of the Huron County Sheriff’s Office. Read More…
