Daniela Poggiali, 42, of Giovecca Italy was arrested by police after the investigation of the death of a 78-year-old patient in April, who was admitted of a minor illness. The victim had unusually high amounts of potassium chloride in her bloodstream.
Poggiali’s co-workers started to become suspicious due to the amount of times that patient conditions would suddenly worsen during her shift, many times to the point of death. They described her as a “cold, polished” person who sometimes gave sedatives to patients that annoyed her, she was also accused by co-workers of giving laxatives to patients to make the jobs of caregivers who came after her harder.

Police have the cell phone of Daniela Poggiali, 42, which included a photo she snapped a few months ago of her giving a thumbs up next to a patient who had died moments earlier, according to the Corriere di Bologna newspaper.
